Senior Portraits

At Screaming Light, our senior portrait sessions are all about you! We love to take a little extra time to talk to you about your session, to learn all about who you are, and to give your photos the TLC that makes them look like they belong in a fashion magazine.

When you call us, we’ll give you some details about how senior portraits work, and we’ll set up two sessions:

1. Senior Consult – We’ll sit down together to discuss what you want to do with your portraits, and to brainstorm shots, outfits, and locations. We’ll tell you what kind of clothes to bring to get the look you want. We’ll also go over pricing and products we have available, and we’ll ask you to start thinking about what you want to do with your portraits.

2. Senior Portrait Session – We create your portraits! Your session may be in studio, out on the town (or country), or some combination – whatever suits you best!

After your session, we’ll take some time – about a week is normal, longer if the studio’s busy – to look over your images, select the best ones, retouch them as required, and apply some creative effects. During this time we’ll post a few to your Facebook page and our blog. When we’ve got all of them looking perfect, we’ll give you a call and set up our third meeting:

3. Proofing and Ordering Session – this is your chance to come into the studio and take a look at your images. We’d love for you to take one of our special measuring rods home after your session; if you include it in a photo of the space(s) where you’d like to hang your portraits, and email the photo to us, we’ll show you your images as they’ll look in your home!

Overall, this process can take a few weeks, and we’re always very busy during peak senior season: from the first day of school, until yearbook deadline. If we can’t get your full session in before deadline, we always set aside a few days of headshots only, which lets you come in, get your yearbook photo done on-time, and come back for your full session after the pressure’s off.
