Mayfield Senior: Alex!
Posted on September 28, 2009
I really love photographing seniors. Especially when it means they take me on a ride in their dune buggy. Which is what we did with Alex the other evening for his senior session. Alex is super laid back, and just an all around cool guy. We photographed his entire session right there in his own neighborhood – and quite a few at his house!
When we first pulled up, the first thing we saw was the awesome vintage Chevy parked in the driveway. Apparently, when Alex first learned to drive, he drove it to school a couple of times – which would have given me a total heart attack! It was way cool – I especially liked the hula girl on the dashboard. So we got some great stuff of him and the car.
After that, we took the dune buggy down to the families orchards, where we got some shots of Alex standing in some fields, with gorgeous golden light that we rarely see down here! Ahhh, I love fall. We did some stuff with his dune buggy, then headed back towards their house for a few final pictures.
His family also had a great old truck out back by their workshop, and their house is literally right down the block from some cool train tracks, so we wrapped up his session by getting some neat stuff on the tracks, and a flat-bed train car!
Since we were running out of time, we decided to have Alex stop by the next morning, and get a few studio shots for the yearbook, and with his guitar and boxing gloves before he headed down to El Paso for the day with his family. We had tons of fun man!

Wow!!!! I love them. The pictures of Alex in front of the Caddy and his dune buggy make me smile.
