Jeanette – Beautiful Boudoir Portraits!
Posted on February 17, 2009
Tonight we got to photograph Jeanette, for a gorgeous boudoir session! Usually we don’t share these on the blog, they’re just a little too personally usually, but this particular shot we’re sharing has the ok by Jeanette. We had a total blast – we even drove a motorcycle into the studio for some of the shots – which was awesome! Boudoir can really be a ton of fun, and even though it can kind of be scary at first to think about being photographed in lingerie, just imagine how much your partner will love them when they get them! These are always really popular around Valentines Day, but are great for anniversaries and birthdays too! Here’s our favorite shot of the night!

Bridal Boudoir
Posted on September 7, 2008
You may not have heard about this under-the-radar new trend in wedding photography. Bridal boudoir photos are pinup-style shots of you in your veil and lingerie; the shots (bound into an album) are usually presented to the groom as a sexy gift – think Valentine’s day or an anniversary, or maybe the day you get back from your honeymoon.
The images themselves typically range from fine-art lingerie to fine art implied nudes, depending on what you’re comfortable with (and how much of a show you want to give him!) As the name implies, lingerie photos include your bra and panties. Implied nudes, known in the modeling industry as “Maxim style” after the men’s magazine known for the look, may show you from behind, or covering your breasts with your arms, hands, or a convenient bit of fabric or architecture.
The major concern with these images is, of course, who sees them. Screaming Light doesn’t post these to any online gallery, even a password-protected one (unless you ask us to, of course). They are included (in a separate, smaller box) with your proofs. You can choose to find an album to put these 4×6 prints in yourself, or we can design a small album that only contains these images. Either way, this is a limited performance for an audience of 1 – your lucky groom.
Should you decide that boudoir photos are a titillating option, we’ll usually shoot them either on your wedding day (we kick everyone out of the room you’re dressing in and bar the door, or find a hotel room where we don’t have to worry about interruptions) or, if you’re planning a “trial run” of your hair and makeup in the weeks before your wedding, we’ll take that opportunity to grab you for a short studio session, or meet you at home for a session there. The session usually takes 15-30 minutes on the morning of the wedding, or 30-60 minutes in-studio or at home before the wedding day.
The Knot has some great ideas and thoughts on bridal boudoir. We of course have samples available in studio – just ask to see them.
