Las Cruces Children Portraits: Sheridan

It’s certainly family and child portrait season around here – with the holidays coming up, everyone is hurrying in to get their images taken for Christmas cards and family gifts. Last week we had Sheridan and her mom Stephanie in the studio for a quick session for their cards; and the idea was to get Sheridan to make sweet faces and naughty faces for their card concept. Sheridan is a total sweetheart, and full of energy – such a joy to photograph every time we see her! Here’s a quick compilation of the many faces of Sheridan! Family Portraits in Las Cruces: Emma at the Corn Maze!

Sunday night we met Emma and her parents down at the Mesilla Valley Corn Maze for some portraits! Emma’s mom Julie really wanted some shots of her in the pumpkin patch, playing around; and some family portraits as well. The Corn Maze is such an excellent place to go for portraits – even though there’s an admission fee, it’s well worth the price! There’s tons to do, an amazing pumpkin patch, and a new maze design every year.

The first thing we did is hop on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch! You wouldn’t believe how many pumpkins they still had out there – must have been 10,000 of them! We had so much fun taking shots of Emma as she went from pumpkin to pumpkin, judging which one was the best, finding the biggest, and generally having a great time. Then we loaded back up on the trailer and headed over to the corn maze itself! We got some really cute shots of the family, and of Emma in the maze – she’s so dynamic and full of life!

We shot around the grounds a little bit, and while we took some photos of her parents together, Emma went and got her face painted at a nearby booth – you can see the result – a beautiful butterfly! What a perfect choice for such a sweet free spirited little girl!

Then it was time to say goodbye – but Jason and I hung out for a little bit and had some roasted corn, it’s the best!

Sophie’s Fall Portraits

It’s always a treat to photograph Sophie, who must be one of the best-behaved toddlers we work with. Since we did her one-year-old photos, we’ve been anxious to work with her again, and we got our chance last week!

Sophie’s going trick-or-treating as a ladybug this year, and she brought her costume into the studio (with a little help from Grandma, who’s visiting from New Jersey) to pose on our fall set.

I know, I know folks, it’s been too long since we blogged. I’m on it, I swear. We have been so busy catching up from vacation, and finally I’m getting around to blogging this cute session we did the other day! Troy and Hillary are brother and sister – their mom called us to book a session to have their portraits done while Troy was in town from college in Idaho! We tooled around in the studio for a little while, but my favorite shots were when we headed out to the desert. We put our favorite red chair out there, and just had a blast with messing around, and goofing off! It was fun guys!

Baby Portraits in Las Cruces: Baby Avalynn

That’s a big cup of baby! Avalynn and her mom Deb came by the studio the other day for some portraits! Avalynn is such a good natured baby – she put up with being put in the tea cup very well! Deb had so many cute little outfits for her, we had a hard time choosing which ones to put her in! Babies are so fun to photograph, but you generally only get a short amount of time before they get fed up with the flashing lights, and constant undressing and redressing. She handled it like a champ though – it wasn’t until it started getting close to bed time that she decided she was done modeling for us!

We’re were so excited to have you guys come out, she’s going to be a real heartbreaker!

Sophie: Cute as a bug!

Friday morning I had the pleasure of meeting cute little Sophie at the studio for her one year portrait session! Sophie has the most stunning eyes, and gorgeous red hair! We did some regular portraits with her in her adorable outfits her mom had brought, and then…. we decided to destroy a birthday cake! Here’s an abbreviated version of the cake destruction, and a few of her precious photos from their session! We sure had fun Sophie, can’t wait to watch you grow!

It took awhile to get all the pink icing off. Sophie wasn’t real sure she was supposed to be that messy!

Maternity Photos: Ashley

This morning we got to meet Ashley, who is expecting her son Cooper this summer! We started out in the studio, with the traditonal cloth wrapping and belly shots, and then headed down to Mesilla and had a blast shooting at the Mercado! We wish Ashely and her growing family the best! Can’t wait to meet the little guy!

Maternity Photos: Melissa & Double Trouble!

Melissa is going to be doubly blessed! This beautiful and lucky lady is having twins in about 10 weeks! We’re so excited for her! Now usually, we don’t show a lot of maternity stuff on the blog because it’s so personal, but Melissa gave me permission to share this particular maternity photo. Her little boy is two years old, and anxiously awaiting the arrival of his new baby brothers and/or sisters! They’re way more patient than I could ever be, it’s going to be a surprise!

OpLove: Erin and Jaime + 2 Cuties!

Our other appointment Sunday, was down in El Paso, at our favorite Memorial Park. This was another Operation: Love ReUnited Session, and as always, it was a real treat. We met Erin and Jaime, and their two kids- Colin and Harper for a fun family session! The weather was gorgeous and we had a lot of fun playing around, and taking pictures. Jaime will be deploying soon, and we’re glad to be able to get some photos of him with his family before he goes overseas. Every session we do as OpLove photographers is such a blessing, and such an honor. The love that these families clearly have for each other and for our country is humbling, and makes me so grateful.

Erin and family, it was so nice to finally meet you guys, I’ll post these up on Facebook for you ASAP!

Family Portraits in Las Cruces: The Sandoval Family!

Yesterday evening we met up with the Sandoval family here at the studio for some family portraits! Leo, Cynthia, Alma, Carlos and little Camilla came all the way over from Deming to have their portraits done – that’s quite a drive from here! We chatted a little first here in the studio, and they said the photos were a present for their mom, and that’s always special. We also wanted to get a few portraits of Camilla being cute, which was easy to do, because she’s cute like it’s her JOB!

After a few quick shots in the studio, we headed out to a few locations around town for some more outdoors shots. As it started getting a little bit chillier, Camilla got a little cranky, so we finished up fast, just as the sun was setting, and called it a day!

Thanks for coming all the way to Las Cruces to have your portraits made guys, it was great to meet you all! Here’s a few sneak peeks at the session!
