Leiberman Family Portrait
Posted on October 19, 2008
Rachelle and Asher had their extended family in town this weekend for a baby shower; while everyone was here, we took some photos of the family down on the Rio Grande.
Those three kids are always such fun! Naomi was very interested in my flash; she asked to hold it about 3 times. We’re waiting for Benjamin to start walking. He’s sure trying as hard as he can!
I’ll be updating the article on dressing for family portraits after seeing how they did this – each couple or family group wore a different earth-tone top with blue jeans, so while everyone matches, you can tell who’s with who just by what color shirt they’re wearing.

Bob & Liz Tie The Knot!
Posted on September 28, 2008
We’re back from Phoenix, and as promised, here’s a sneak peek of Bob and Liz’s wedding! The wedding was really beautiful, and quite intimate, taking place at their beautiful home in the Pueblos.
I know Liz was really excited about her dress, and of course it was just beautiful on her. Everything was just perfect. They had set up a large tent out in the back yard near the pool, and the wedding was to take place at sunset. The weather was just gorgeous all evening!
We’re so excited to have gotten the chance to photograph their wedding, it was a wonderful day!

Chavez Family Portraits
Posted on August 25, 2008
Our final photoshoot this weekend was the Chavez family portraits, which we captured on location at the family’s pecan orchard, down on the Rio Grand. With all the rain we’ve had lately, the trees and the grass were green, and the river was up. Unfortunately, so were the insects – we shot in the evening, which is when the light is best, but it was also dinnertime for the mosquitoes, and we were on the menu! We got great shots despite having to pause periodically to brush each other off and swat at the bugs.
Little AJ sure is cute, isn’t he? He’s standing on his own, but not quite walking. He seemed to regard having his picture taken as very serious business indeed, second only to being held by Grandma and Grandpa!

Bob + Liz Engagement Session
Posted on August 23, 2008
It’s been another busy weekend here at Screaming Light Studios, and today we had the pleasure of taking Bob and Liz out for their engagement photos! These two are so much fun to be around, and we are really looking forward to their wedding next month. Every once in awhile, you get a couple that are really comfortable in front of the camera; both Liz and Bob were so focused on each other and really natural.
We started out here in the studio, with just some quick shots to warm up. Once we were done here, we headed over to their house, and got some pictures of the two of them playing Guitar Hero. They were fierce!
These two have the cutest story – they met at a local Starbucks, and discovered they had more than they ever imagined in common – including a love for argyle socks. Of course, I couldn’t let a story like that go to waste, so we went to the Starbucks where they met, and shot some really great photos of them together with their socks.
After that, it was off to Mesilla to finish up! We walked around, taking photos here and there until the heat finally just got to be too much. So without further ado, here are our favorites from today!

Allyson + Eric: Engagements (Part II)
Posted on August 17, 2008
As promised, here are a few shots from the second half of Ally and Eric’s engagements. This time, they brought their German Shorthaired Pointers, Lexus and Jake, and Ally’s horse, JW, to join in the fun.
We met them at a local McDonald’s (the horse trailer wouldn’t have made it out to the studio) and headed out behind A Mountain. We were intending to hit our favorite windmill, but the clouds piling up to the north and the rain already visible on the horizon convinced us that maybe we’d better find a spot a little closer in. It’s a good thing we did – the clouds rolled over the sun towards the end of our shoot, and by the time we were leaving, rain was starting to come down.
Weather notwithstanding, we got even more great images, and found a new spot for portraits besides! The only problem now is what to do with all these incredible photos. I’m sure Roz will come up with something…

Allyson + Eric: Engagements (Part I)
Posted on August 3, 2008
We had a blast out on the town with Allyson & Eric tonight! Even though their wedding isn’t until July 2009, Allyson was anxious to get some shots done; we hit the E, Old Mesilla, and the Downtown Mall. They must be one of the cutest, easiest-to-photograph couples ever.
We had so much fun, we’re planning a second installment of engagements. The next session will focus on their horse and German Shorthaired Pointers; we’ll probably shoot them out by the mountains. We simply can’t wait!
