Senior Portraits: Brenner
Posted on July 18, 2009
Brenner seriously cracks me up. We’d been planning all summer to take some senior portraits for him, but he has such a busy tennis schedule, it took us longer than we thought to get to them! Nonetheless, we did get to go hang out with Brenner, and his sister Raleigh the other night, and as always, it was a riot.
First we headed out to the tennis courts at NMSU and took some shots of Brenner doing his thing. The shot where he’s bouncing the tennis ball was so funny that we nearly couldn’t shoot straight – every time I had him look at the camera, the ball would go bouncing off into oblivion. We did eventually get it, but this shot of him looking down towards his racket and ball is one of my favorites.
So after some tennis, and taking a few more photos around the campus, we headed over to Starbucks. Now Raleigh, his sister has been a friend of mine for a few years, and we’re always laughing about the great impersonations Brenner can do. Recently, there was a skit on SNL that we’re all big fans of, and which Brenner imitates with amazing skill. So I urged Raleigh to convince him to bring a hoodie, despite the heat, and we headed over to Starbucks for an iced coffee. The shot we took of him doing this impersonation, is not really the type of senior shot we’d usually do, but is so “Brenner” that we had to do it!
So… Brenner…. what’s so scary about Connecticut anyway? Leaving your tennis racket in a Pottery Barn?
We love you guys!

Senior Pictures: Sharayah
Posted on June 1, 2009
Sharayah is one of our senior reps this year from Las Cruces High School! She came by this weekend, and we had an awesome time going out on the town and shooting some fun photos! First we headed down close to Mesilla, and had a blast shooting around the Mercado! Then we headed over to what must be Las Cruces only bamboo grove. I got laughed at because I thought they were corn stalks. Hey, that’s what they looked like to me!
Sharayah brought lots of really fun props with her to her shoot – a must for making a senior portrait session unique and interesting. When you’re planning your session, think about the things that make you who you are – and bring stuff with you – we’ll figure out something fun to do with it! Bring your favorite things from your closet, and the kitchen sink too! But enough gabbing, on with Sharayah’s gorgeous photos!

Onate Senior: Anthony’s Senior Session!
Posted on April 26, 2009
Even though I’ve got several more shoots to blog, I couldn’t wait to show Anthony and his family his senior pictures! We just got back from Mesilla, where we tooled around shooting in some of our favorite spots. Seems like we’ve been spending a lot of time down there lately! But it’s such an awesome place to shoot, that it’s hard to pass up the opportunity, especially in spring, when it’s gorgeous down there.
Anthony was so laid back and easy to work with. We try to make our seniors as comfortable as possible in front of the camera – we know it’s hard work being a rock star when someone’s got a camera pointed in your face! He handled it with the ease of someone who’s been having professional photographs taken his whole life!
I’m going to keep this post short – like I said, I’ve got a wedding and two OpLove sessions yet to edit for the blog and post, so I must get back to it! Thanks Anthony for hanging out with us this afternoon!

Ryan – Our first senior rep!
Posted on February 21, 2009
This morning was a real treat when Ryan and his mom came by the studio for their session. We’d originally just scheduled some time to get some shots for a graduation project his mom is working on for him – but it turns out that Ryan was interested in becoming one of our senior reps! Usually, we don’t accept applicants who are already in their senior year – but since Ryan is on the basketball team at Mesilla Valley Christian School, he knows plenty of juniors. We’re looking forward to talking to some of them about being reps themselves for next year! See? We’ve always got something planned here at the studio!
We just did some studio stuff this morning, Ryan brought a basketball, and his guitar; but you’ll be seeing a lot more of him on the blog in the coming months, as we continue to do work with him as a Rep! If you’re interested in representing the studio, and earning some really awesome prizes, and even cold hard cash, give us a shout!
Now without further adieu, here are some of the shots from Ryan’s Senior session this morning!
