Family Portraits in Las Cruces: Robin and Family!
Posted on December 6, 2009
This afternoon we caught up with Robin and her family – she’s about to deploy for Iraq soon, and they wanted to get some family portraits done before she has to leave. They drove up from El Paso and met us here at the studio, where we captured a few quick photos. After that, we headed down the road for some more shots down by one of our favorite fences.
Thank you Robin for all you do for our country, we wish you well on your deployment!

Grants Senior Portraits: Michelle
Posted on November 22, 2009
Yesterday Michelle, her mom, and her best friend came down to Las Cruces to have Michelle’s High School Senior Portraits taken – all the way from Grants! Michelle is super gorgeous – beautiful red hair and a gorgeous smile! We were so excited for her session! We’d been planning for her session for awhile now, and we couldn’t have been blessed with better weather. Fall is in full color here in the Mesilla Valley, and we took full advantage of the wonderful light out there!
When Michelle called us, she was super excited about our Rio Grande sessions, and really wanted some shots in the river. We were a little nervous about it, I’ll admit – being the end of November, I was worried that we’d all freeze to death in the Rio. Yes, it was cold. It was absolutely worth it! The good news is, the river is low right now, so rather than the usual hip deep wading we do during these sessions, it was only shin high. Cold though it was, we had the best time splashing around, and laughing at each other.
Michelle, we had such a great time with you and your family, thanks for making the four hour drive to see us! Best wishes for your senior year!

Las Cruces Children Portraits: Sheridan
Posted on November 22, 2009
It’s certainly family and child portrait season around here – with the holidays coming up, everyone is hurrying in to get their images taken for Christmas cards and family gifts. Last week we had Sheridan and her mom Stephanie in the studio for a quick session for their cards; and the idea was to get Sheridan to make sweet faces and naughty faces for their card concept. Sheridan is a total sweetheart, and full of energy – such a joy to photograph every time we see her! Here’s a quick compilation of the many faces of Sheridan! What do you think she’ll get in her stocking this year?

Sophie’s Fall Portraits
Posted on October 19, 2009
It’s always a treat to photograph Sophie, who must be one of the best-behaved toddlers we work with. Since we did her one-year-old photos, we’ve been anxious to work with her again, and we got our chance last week!
Sophie’s going trick-or-treating as a ladybug this year, and she brought her costume into the studio (with a little help from Grandma, who’s visiting from New Jersey) to pose on our fall set.

Mayfield Senior: Alex!
Posted on September 28, 2009
I really love photographing seniors. Especially when it means they take me on a ride in their dune buggy. Which is what we did with Alex the other evening for his senior session. Alex is super laid back, and just an all around cool guy. We photographed his entire session right there in his own neighborhood – and quite a few at his house!
When we first pulled up, the first thing we saw was the awesome vintage Chevy parked in the driveway. Apparently, when Alex first learned to drive, he drove it to school a couple of times – which would have given me a total heart attack! It was way cool – I especially liked the hula girl on the dashboard. So we got some great stuff of him and the car.
After that, we took the dune buggy down to the families orchards, where we got some shots of Alex standing in some fields, with gorgeous golden light that we rarely see down here! Ahhh, I love fall. We did some stuff with his dune buggy, then headed back towards their house for a few final pictures.
His family also had a great old truck out back by their workshop, and their house is literally right down the block from some cool train tracks, so we wrapped up his session by getting some neat stuff on the tracks, and a flat-bed train car!
Since we were running out of time, we decided to have Alex stop by the next morning, and get a few studio shots for the yearbook, and with his guitar and boxing gloves before he headed down to El Paso for the day with his family. We had tons of fun man!

Senior Portraits: Aimee
Posted on August 2, 2009
Wow, Las Cruces sure has some great looking seniors! This weekend Aimee came out to the studio and had us do her senior portraits – and what a varied young woman she is! Before her session, Aimee stopped and grabbed one of her favorite tutu’s and brought it with her to the studio. I’m not sure how long it takes for a dancer to get to the point where Aimee is, but it sure was impressive to see her en pointe! I had to stand on a chair to get some of the shots – she’s tall!
Jason shot the next series – Aimee in her golf shirt with her clubs, and even HE had to stand on a chair – but in his defense, it was because the club when extended over Aimee’s head required a lot of height and distance in the studio! My personal favorite is the one with her club behind her neck.
She also brought along a great little black dress, and that gave us an excuse to use our new favorite backdrop, and I love the RayBans with the dress – beautiful!
After we were done in the studio, we took our favorite red chair, and headed out to Mesilla, where Aimee wanted to have some shots done to emulate a photo she had done when she was a child. We really had a great time with her, it was tons of fun! We wish you well in your senior year Aimee!
