Mayfield Senior Portraits: Molly!
Posted on September 5, 2009
Wow, it’s been crazy around here with so many great looking seniors coming into the studio! I’m finally getting around to blogging this session of Molly, a senior from Mayfield High School here in Las Cruces! We took Molly downtown for her portrait session – since she said she was more into that sort of scene – and had a blast just goofing around and taking pictures. Molly is in Choir, and totally into musical theater, so we walked down by the Rio Grande, and got one of my favorite shots ever! We had so much fun!
Then we went up to her house up on the East Mesa – or rather, up in the Organ Mountains themselves! The house was AMAZING! You can see the whole city from there, and the sun was just setting – making for some gorgeous sunset photos out in the desert!
We had fun Molly, and we hope you have a great senior year!

Mayfield Senior Portrait: Thomas!
Posted on August 26, 2009
Ok, somebody call GQ, stat. Our last senior, Jessie, told her boyfriend Thomas she was getting her senior photos done with us, and he wanted to have his done as well – so we met with Thomas and his dad in the studio, and booked his session for this last Monday. Thomas is super nice, and a real gentleman. Jessie told us about a location she and her friends had gone out and shot some photos at, so we decided to check it out, and do some of Tom’s photos there. We drove out to the valley after we’d done some stuff in the desert near the studio.
It’s chile time of course here in Las Cruces, and the smell of roasting chiles was taunting all of us while we were shooting. I have never craved green enchiladas so bad in my life. When we just couldn’t stand it anymore, and the impending thunderstorm just got too close, we packed it up and headed back to town. You’d almost think the session was being blessed – we saw the most vivid double rainbow over the city as we drove back up to the mesa. What a wonderful way to end our day! Here’s some of Tom’s photos!

Mayfield Senior: Jessie!
Posted on August 23, 2009
It has been super busy around here with seniors lately, and I admit, I have been swamped with editing and shooting, leaving me so little time to blog! But, I loved Jessie’s session SO MUCH that I decided to go ahead and blog it today – a mere day after we shot it.
So we took Jessie out to Organ, one of our favorite places to shoot – there’s a ton of just funky old things and places out there that are perfect for senior portraits. Jessie’s boyfriend Tom came out with us – his session is tomorrow – because he and Jessie wanted some photos of the two of them together! They are smokin’ hot let me tell ya! Jessie’s mom came along as well, and we tramped around Organ and Las Cruces for most of the morning. At this building in Organ, we saw the craziest thing – thousands and thousands of bees had been trapped inside this abandoned building, and their carcasses were all piled up at the window sills. Disgusting! I hate bees. But we braved the outside of the building for some awesome shots.
Jessie is an accomplished violinist at Mayfield high – so we had to get some shots of her playing her instrument, and there is no better backdrop than our own Organ Mountains. Pretty soon though, it got too hot to bear, and we packed it up and headed home.
Can’t wait to shoot Tom’s session tomorrow, and we wish you both the best of luck in your senior year!

Esther + Alice: Engagements
Posted on November 8, 2008

We shot Esther & Alice’s engagements in downtown El Paso this evening; we had a blast goofing around, we found some great places to shoot as the sun was setting, and we even found a fire escape we could reach for the final shots! Their commitment ceremony is coming up on the 6th of December; we’re really looking forward to it (it’s going to be a fun evening)!
I think they thought we were a little crazy making them do some of this stuff, but it really was loads of fun! Jason got to play traffic cop while Roz took the photos of Esther and Alice crossing the street. It was such a gorgeous crisp fall evening, and the light was just wonderful!
Thanks for coming downtown with us you two! We’re so excited for next months festivities!

In Mesilla with Lynn
Posted on October 22, 2008
Tonight I got to take pictures of a good friend of mine, Lynn Odell. I’ve worked with Lynn for nearly two years at my regular day job at NAI 1st Valley. I have to tell you – Lynn is really a lot more than just our receptionist, he’s the heart and soul and laughter in our office. He’s a great friend, and just an all around funny guy.
Lynn is a total clothes horse. He’s always showing up to work in dapper new duds, and really, he always looks sharp. He just got this awesome pin-striped suit and really cool fedora, and we decided we’d go out and take some photos of him in his neighborhood.
Here’s a few of the shots we took tonight!

Allyson + Eric: Engagements (Part I)
Posted on August 3, 2008
We had a blast out on the town with Allyson & Eric tonight! Even though their wedding isn’t until July 2009, Allyson was anxious to get some shots done; we hit the E, Old Mesilla, and the Downtown Mall. They must be one of the cutest, easiest-to-photograph couples ever.
We had so much fun, we’re planning a second installment of engagements. The next session will focus on their horse and German Shorthaired Pointers; we’ll probably shoot them out by the mountains. We simply can’t wait!
