El Paso, TX: Valerie & Scott’s Wedding at the Zoo!

When we first met Valerie, it was at the Days of Remembrance Bridal Fair, back in January. She was busily planning her wedding, and came to visit our booth and chat with us. When she told us her wedding reception was going to be at the El Paso Zoo, we were so excited! How fun is that? They rented out the zoo after hours, and had the place all decorated. It’s a gorgeous place to shoot, and a wonderful venue for a reception!
I’m getting ahead of myself though. First, we met up with everyone at Valeries moms house, where she and everyone else were getting ready. There were a ton of kids in this wedding, so there were lots of little girls with curlers, and little boys trying hard not to get too dirty before the big ceremony. Scott and Valeries friends and family are so funny and sweet, we had a real blast hanging out and photographing all the preparations.
After everyone was all ready, we headed to Calvery Temple church for the ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony, filled with lots of emotion and lots of laughs. They had written their own special vows in addition to the traditional ones, and that’s always a lot of fun to see. The bride and groom left the church, with all the guests throwing what seemed like a ton of confetti!
Then we headed off to the zoo! One of the best things about this reception was how much fun it was for all the kids. The people at the zoo kept the carousel open all night for the kids, and it looked so cool lit up at night. They really did a wonderful job. Valerie and Scott’s beautiful cake was made my Valeries mom, Naomi, and it was really impressive! There were tons of laughs, and many great memories that night! Congratulations Valerie and Scott, we wish you a happy future!
